ACER SACCHARUM (Sugar Maple) #1 Pot
Description
A large tree with dark green leaves and a thick, spreading crown. Shallow roots, and strong limbs. Slow growing- about 1 each year. Great for use on disturbed sites, although they are intolerant of compacted soils and sensitive to drought. Known for its fall color display of yellows, oranges and reds. As its name suggests, it is one of the only trees used for syrup production since its sap contains two times the sugar content of any other maple species. Many insect pollinators visit the flowers.
