Delivery Driver
We are looking for some really special people to help deliver our plants! This is a seasonal, part-time position that is perfect for early-risers. Here's the type of person we're looking for in an applicant:
- Is self-motivated and proactive.
- Wants to work for a family business.
- Has prior experience driving delivery vans, box trucks, or tractor-trailers
- Enjoys driving on highways and in cities.
- Doesn't mind getting dirty or lifting heavy objects.
- Is reliable and timely.
- Wants to be hands on and doesn't mind getting wet.
- Has a great sense of humor.
- Brings a positive attitude every day.
- CDL Class B License preferred but not required.
Here's what a delivery schedule would look like:
- Confirm delivery with Pinelands Shipping Controller
- Analyze route to ensure timely delivery (most deliveries are made by 8am)
- Clock in and complete Pre-Trip Truck Inspection
- Depart the Nursery to arrive at destination on time
- Arrive at job site and greet foreman to confirm delivery location
- Bring plants to the back of the truck to be unloaded.
- Confirm order accuracy and collect payment
- Drive back to the nursery, fueling the truck before arrival.
- Conduct Post-Trip Truck Inspection
- Report to Shipping Controller for future assignments and clock out.
Deliveries may be anywhere from Virginia to Massachusetts. This person needs to be willing to drive occasionally to NYC and Long Island. All deliveries are within a one day round trip delivery, with the driver arriving on site typically by 8 AM. Driver is responsible for moving plants/erosion control material to the back of the truck, collecting payments and refueling at the end of the day. During our busy season April – July, September – November, there may be deliveries daily.
Great position for an early riser who wants to spend some time out of the house each day.
