ANDROPOGON GERARDII (Big Bluestem) Seed
Description
Tall, warm season grass, found on dry, sunny sites. Foliage turns from blue-green to coppery in the fall. Showy, blue to purple flowers produce amber seed heads that are coarse in texture. A great choice for erosion control plantings and clay soils because of its dense, fibrous root system. Good addition to rain gardens and roadside plantings since it can tolerate seasonal flooding and moderate salt levels.
