Description
Please allow 3 business days for all seed orders.
Carex stricta, commonly called Tussock Sedge, is a perennial sedge native to North American wetlands. It forms distinctive, elevated tussocks of arching green foliage, reaching heights of 2-3 feet. Its seed heads, which appear in late spring, add textural interest to wetland landscapes.
Tussock Sedge thrives in full sun to partial shade and wet, nutrient-rich soils. It is a cornerstone species for wetland restoration, as its dense root system stabilizes soil and provides habitat for aquatic wildlife. Its dramatic form also makes it a unique addition to rain gardens and pond edges.
