This species is in the legume family and is nitrogen fixing. Can grow in full sun to partial shade and prefers moist to dry soil thanks to its dense tap root. This is the showiest of the Tick-trefoil species, hence its name. This is a very wildlife friendly species, with bees and butterflies enjoying its nectar while other insects and animals eat the seeds and plant material.
