Description
Photinia pyrifolia, commonly called red chokeberry, is a deciduous shrub native to eastern North America. Growing 6€“12 feet tall, it thrives in wet meadows, swamps, and woodland edges. The shrub produces clusters of white flowers in spring, followed by bright red berries that persist into winter. Its foliage turns brilliant red in fall, adding ornamental value. The berries, while astringent to humans, are an important winter food source for birds.
