A resilient evergreen conifer native to the eastern United States, Pitch Pine thrives in sandy, nutrient-poor soils and is a dominant species in the Pine Barrens. Growing 40€“70 feet tall, it features irregular, twisted branches, thick bark, and 3-inch-long needles in clusters of three. Its fire-resistant qualities allow it to regenerate after wildfires.
