A sod-forming species with fine stems and tall, slender leaves. Most commonly used for plantings along riparian zones and in wetland areas to provide erosion control. The root system is known for holding soils in place. Capable of growing in any soil type as long as there is sufficient water / irrigation. Tolerates flooding for extended periods. Germination occurs quickly. Performs well in acidic and low fertility soils. Provides a food source for wildlife.
