A regionally-tuned wildflower blend built for color from early spring through late fall, this mix delivers the broadest bloom-season coverage of any of our meadow mixes across a wide range of upland conditions.
Mix Overview
Designed as a true rainbow planting, this blend combines early risers like common yarrow and columbine with summer standouts - purple coneflower, dense blazing star, rattlesnake master, and white wood aster - and carries color into fall with goldenrods and asters. Both common and swamp milkweed are included for monarch support, and Virginia wild-rye provides light structural backbone without overwhelming the forb display.
Application
- General landscape and roadside color plantings
- Meadow restoration where continuous bloom is the priority
- Educational and demonstration gardens showcasing regional wildflower diversity
- Sites transitioning from turf to a lower-maintenance naturalized planting
Growing Conditions / Specification Data
- Light: Full Sun to Part Shade
- Site Conditions: Upland sites; adaptable to average, well-drained soils
- Recommended Seeding Rate: 10 lbs. per acre
- Mix Type: Native wildflower blend with light grass component
Planting Guidance
Broadcast or drill seed into a prepared, weed-free seedbed in spring or late fall. Light raking or rolling after seeding improves soil-to-seed contact. Bloom begins with early species in year one and builds to full diversity and coverage by year two or three.
Please allow 3 business days for all seed orders.
