Curated by Pinelands' own beekeepers from the plants they've watched their honeybees favor most, this mix is built specifically around nectar and pollen value for managed hives, not just wild pollinators.
Mix Overview
The selection leans on proven honeybee draws - partridge pea, lanceleaf tickseed, and both blue and yellow wild indigo - alongside the milkweed species every pollinator mix depends on for monarch support. The bloom sequence is built to keep forage available from early spring through the end of fall, giving hives a season-long nectar and pollen source rather than a few concentrated bloom windows.
Application
- Plantings adjacent to or supporting managed honeybee apiaries
- General pollinator habitat with a beekeeping-specific species emphasis
- Farm and homestead plantings where honey production is a goal
- Extended-season forage plantings for commercial or hobbyist beekeepers
Growing Conditions / Specification Data
- Light: Full Sun to Part Shade
- Site Conditions: Upland sites; adaptable to average, well-drained soils
- Recommended Seeding Rate: 15 lbs. per acre
- Mix Type: Native wildflower blend selected for honeybee forage value
Planting Guidance
Broadcast or drill seed into a prepared, weed-free seedbed in spring or late fall. Light raking or rolling after seeding improves soil-to-seed contact. For best hive support, site plantings within typical honeybee foraging range of the apiary.
Please allow 3 business days for all seed orders.
