A wildlife-first blend focused on the food and cover songbirds and other upland birds need to thrive, built from the same reliable native forb and grass base used across our habitat mixes.

Mix Overview

This mix leans on seed-producing forbs and structural grasses that provide both direct food value - through seed heads that persist into winter - and the dense cover birds rely on for nesting and predator avoidance. It's designed to function as a genuine wildlife planting first, with pollinator and aesthetic value as a welcome secondary benefit rather than the primary design goal.

Application

  • Songbird and upland game bird habitat plantings
  • Field border and hedgerow plantings supporting wildlife corridors
  • Conservation and wildlife management area plantings
  • Farm and rural property plantings prioritizing wildlife food and cover

Growing Conditions / Specification Data

  • Light: Full Sun to Part Shade
  • Site Conditions: Upland sites; adaptable to average, well-drained soils
  • Recommended Seeding Rate: 15 lbs. per acre
  • Mix Type: Native wildflower and grass blend selected for bird habitat value

Planting Guidance

Broadcast or drill seed into a prepared, weed-free seedbed in spring or late fall. Light raking or rolling after seeding improves soil-to-seed contact. Leave standing through winter rather than mowing to preserve seed heads and cover value.

Please allow 3 business days for all seed orders.
