Mix Overview

Big bluestem, Virginia wild-rye, switchgrass, Indiangrass, and purpletop combine into a grass-only mix built for height and visual texture rather than forb diversity. Left standing through winter, the mix provides real overwintering habitat for birds, insects, and small mammals, and several of its component grasses serve as host plants for a range of moth and butterfly species.

Planting Guidance
