A slope- and berm-specific blend for basin edges, engineered to hold soil on harsher, well-drained ground while still delivering genuine pollinator value.
Mix Overview
Big bluestem, Virginia wild-rye, and purple lovegrass anchor this blend, paired with partridge pea, lanceleaf tickseed, purple coneflower, wild bergamot, spotted horsemint, and deertongue grass to stabilize the drier, better-drained soils typical of a basin's slopes and berms. This mix is designed to pair directly with our Basin Bottom Mix, which handles the wetter, poorly-drained conditions at the base of the same basin.
Application
- Stormwater basin slopes and berms
- Detention and retention pond side-slope stabilization
- Any sloped, well-drained site adjacent to a wetter basin bottom planting
- Pollinator habitat integrated into stormwater infrastructure
Growing Conditions / Specification Data
- Light: Full Sun to Part Shade
- Site Conditions: Well-drained slopes and berms; harsher, drier basin-edge conditions
- Recommended Seeding Rate: 15 lbs. per acre
- Mix Type: Native wildflower and grass blend for basin slope stabilization
Planting Guidance
Broadcast or drill seed into a prepared, weed-free seedbed in spring or late fall. Light raking or rolling after seeding improves soil-to-seed contact. Pair with a wetter-site mix at the basin bottom for a complete basin planting.
Please allow 3 business days for all seed orders.
