Engineered for the toughest slope conditions, this mix pairs deep-rooted grasses and forbs with genuine tolerance for poor soil and steep grades where erosion risk is highest.
Mix Overview
Big bluestem, Virginia wild-rye, switchgrass, Indiangrass, purpletop, and little bluestem form a deep-rooted grass backbone, reinforced by partridge pea, lanceleaf tickseed, showy tick-trefoil, spotted horsemint, black-eyed Susan, and Ohio spiderwort for additional root diversity and pollinator value. This combination is specifically suited to poor, exposed subsoil on grades too steep for a standard meadow mix.
Application
- Steep slope stabilization on poor or exposed subsoil
- Highway cut-and-fill slopes and construction grading
- Sites too steep or degraded for a standard erosion control mix
- Quarry, landfill cap, and other severely disturbed-land restoration
