A diverse streamside blend built to stabilize banks, reduce flooding intensity, and filter runoff before it reaches the water, while still supporting a wide range of pollinators and wildlife.
Mix Overview
Big bluestem and Virginia wild-rye anchor this mix with dense root structure suited to bank stabilization, while swamp milkweed and common boneset add pollinator value across the range of conditions a streamside buffer typically presents - slopes, shaded edges, boggy pockets, and areas with occasional running water. The mix is built for the variability of a real riparian corridor rather than a single uniform site condition.
Application
- Streamside and waterway buffer plantings
- Bank stabilization and flood-intensity reduction
- Sites combining slopes, shade, and occasional wet conditions along a single corridor
- Water quality improvement through sediment and runoff filtration
Growing Conditions / Specification Data
- Light: Full Sun to Part Shade
- Site Conditions: Variable - slopes, shaded edges, boggy areas, and occasional running water
- Recommended Seeding Rate: 15 lbs. per acre
- Mix Type: Native wildflower and grass blend for riparian buffers
Planting Guidance
Broadcast or drill seed into a prepared, weed-free seedbed in spring or late fall. Light raking or rolling after seeding improves soil-to-seed contact. Suited to the naturally variable conditions of a streamside corridor without additional site modification.
Please allow 3 business days for all seed orders.
