A low-growing pollinator blend engineered specifically for the unique conditions beneath and around solar panel arrays, stabilizing and improving soil quality while staying compact enough not to interfere with panel operation.

Mix Overview

This mix combines common yarrow, partridge pea, Maryland golden aster, lanceleaf tickseed, purple coneflower, Virginia wild-rye, spotted horsemint, hairy beardtongue, hoary and slender mountain mint, black-eyed Susan, and narrowleaf blue-eyed grass into a blend that tops out at one to four feet - low enough to avoid shading panels while still delivering real pollinator value across dry to slightly moist soil conditions.

Application

  • Ground cover beneath and between solar panel rows
  • Solar array soil stabilization and revitalization
  • Utility-scale and commercial solar site pollinator habitat
  • Low-maintenance, long-lasting vegetative cover for solar installations

Growing Conditions / Specification Data

  • Light: Full Sun to Part Shade
  • Site Conditions: Dry to slightly moist soils
  • Recommended Seeding Rate: 20 lbs. per acre
  • Mix Type: Low-growing native wildflower and grass blend for solar sites (1-4 ft.)

Planting Guidance

Broadcast or drill seed into a prepared, weed-free seedbed in spring or late fall. Light raking or rolling after seeding improves soil-to-seed contact. Low mature height keeps the planting clear of panel arrays without regular mowing.

Please allow 3 business days for all seed orders.
