A taller, showier companion to our low-grow solar mix, built to work as a natural visual screen around panel arrays while delivering a genuinely lush pollinator display.
Mix Overview
Common yarrow, common milkweed, blue wild indigo, partridge pea, lanceleaf tickseed, purple coneflower, Virginia wild-rye, purple lovegrass, flat-top goldenrod, dense blazing star, and both wild bergamot and spotted horsemint combine into a blend reaching one to six feet - tall enough to screen unwanted views of solar infrastructure while attracting a wide range of pollinator species and improving soil stability and quality around the array perimeter.
Application
- Visual screening buffer around solar panel installations
- Perimeter pollinator habitat for solar farms and arrays
- Sites wanting a showier, taller alternative to low-grow solar plantings
- General native habitat creation around any large infrastructure installation
Growing Conditions / Specification Data
- Light: Full Sun to Part Shade
- Site Conditions: Adaptable to average, well-drained soils
- Recommended Seeding Rate: 10 lbs. per acre
- Mix Type: Native wildflower and grass blend for solar buffer screening (1-6 ft.)
Planting Guidance
Broadcast or drill seed into a prepared, weed-free seedbed in spring or late fall. Light raking or rolling after seeding improves soil-to-seed contact. Low-maintenance and long-lasting once established, suited to infrequent-mowing perimeter areas.
Please allow 3 business days for all seed orders.
