One of the showiest and most reliable late-season bloomers for wet, sunny sites, swamp sunflower is a genuine pollinator keystone species - supporting six named specialist bee species and serving as larval host for four different butterfly species.
Species Overview
Helianthus angustifolius is a tall, clump-forming perennial that grows 3 to 6 feet high. It is native to wetlands and moist habitats in the southeastern United States. From late summer to fall, it produces vibrant yellow flowers with dark centers, attracting pollinators and adding bright color to landscapes.
